Melting Pot Service at 9am
Onsite only. Our Melting Pot service is for everyone, and attire is casual. Here you can meet and love our downtown neighbors in a relaxing and informal service. Communion is on the first Sunday of the month.
Sanctuary Service at 9am
Onsite only. Attention early risers! We are excited to introduce our latest service designed just for you. Experience a meaningful and rejuvenating 45-minute gathering in our beautiful sanctuary, where you can connect with others and partake in weekly communion. Don’t miss this opportunity to enrich your spiritual journey each week!
Traditional Service at 11am
Onsite and Online: Our beautiful sanctuary is the location for our most formal service. This is a traditional United Methodist service with great hymns and features our Munsey Choir and organist. All are welcome, and you can come as you are. Communion is the first Sunday of each month.
Contemporary Service at 11am
Onsite and Online: Held in the Christian Life Center Gym, our Contemporary service is for everyone, and once again attire is casual. This service features our Praise Band with modern worship music. Communion is the first Sunday of the month.
Children:
We welcome children in all our worship venues! Childcare is available in the Children's Hallway on the second floor during both worship times for children 6 weeks old – kindergarten. Children who are in 1st grade and above participate in worship. We have kid activity packs available outside of each service. Children are encouraged to join the Pastor or Director of Children’s Ministries up front for a special Children’s Time moment during our Contemporary or Journey service. In addition to worship, we have children’s Sunday School classes each week. Classrooms for infants – 6th grade are located on the 2nd floor. Safety is of utmost importance at Munsey. All of our staff and volunteers follow a Safe Sanctuaries policy, which you can find here.
We have three "Nest" rooms available to families with babies and toddlers on Sundays. These are located in the Parlor, outside the Sanctuary, in the library and in the Christian Life Center lobby. Please ask an user if you need directions. You may watch the Contemporary service from the Parlor and the Journey service from the library or Christian Life Center lobby.

Where are we located?
We are conveniently located at 201 S. Roan Street in the heart of downtown Johnson City. Our guest parking, located near our main entrance off of Roan Street, ensures a stress-free arrival. Upon arrival, our friendly greeters will be on hand to assist with any questions, discuss childcare options, or direct you to our worship venues.

What is the history of Munsey?
Munsey Memorial began in 1871 as the East Market Street Methodist Church, built of handmade bricks at a cost of $4,000. The church was part of the heritage of the early Methodist circuit riders that brought the gospel to the pioneer settlements of the American frontier. To learn more about our history click here.
Safe Sanctuaries?
Safe Sanctuaries is the name commonly given by United Methodist Annual Conferences and local churches to their individual efforts to make conference, district, and local church programs welcoming and safe for children and youth. At Munsey, we seek to do this by having at least two qualified, non-related adults on hand at all of our children and youth activities, by observing good adult-child ratios, by having adults accompany their children to and from children’s activities, and by offering Safe Sanctuaries training and requiring background verification from all of our staff and volunteers.
