Worship and Music

Worship at Munsey

Munsey cheerfully welcomes children in each of our worship services.  The Journey contemporary worship service is held in the Christian Life Center at 8:30 and 11:00.  Traditional worship is offered in the Sanctuary, also at 8:30 and 11:00.  “Open Door” worship is held in the Melting Pot at 11:00.  Special children’s messages are offered during each of the Journey and Sanctuary services, and KFC packs containing activity sheets for children to use during worship are available.  Children of all ages serve as leaders in worship at various times during the year – through choir performances, as scripture readers and communion bearers, by offering prayers, and as acolytes (beginning in 5th grade).

Children’s Music

Munsey offers excellent musical training for your children.  Being a member of a children’s choir is an important part of a child’s development as a whole person. Our choirs focus on providing each child a connection with singing and playing music, with worship in the Church, with being a part of a group with a common purpose, and with service to others. The children’s music ministry is an integral part of the full ministry of music at Munsey.

Our Children’s Choirs – The SonBeam choir (ages 3-Kindergarten), The SonRise Singers (1st through 4th grade), and our HWY 56 choir (5th-6th grade) meet as a part of the Wednesday evening program of activities. The choirs sing regular for the various worship services of the congregation. Regular choirs meet through early April.

The SonBeams (age 3-Kindergarten) are directed by Leanna Baldwin and Kristi Estes.  They meet in Room 206 from 6:00 to 6:30 pm during the school year.  Choir is followed by “Wiggle Worms” (6:30-7:00), a special time for play, color bells, crafts, bible stories and more.

The SonRise Singers (grades 1-4) are directed by Matthew Brickey, Nancy Harvey, and Susan Grove-DeJarnett.  They meet from 6:00 to 7:00 pm in Room 209 during the school year.
