Sunday Morning

On Sundays, we offer five services in three different venues. Each venue has a distinct personality, but the message is the same: we live our best life when we experience God's grace, which can be discovered through the teachings of Jesus.

When You Arrive:

Guest parking is available in Parking Lot A near our main entrance and Christian Life Center at the corner of South Roan and Water Streets. Should you need help, our Parking Lot Greeters in the blue vests can assist.

Inside, our Ask Me Team can answer questions, discuss childcare options, or direct you to the worship venues.

Children:

Children are welcome in all venues! The 11:00am Journey and both Sanctuary services have a special message just for children. Kids activity packs are also available.

Childcare is available for newborn through kindergarten children for all worship services and during the Sunday school hour.

We also have The Nest located in the Library. Parents can bring their children to listen to the Sanctuary service or watch the Journey service if they need a private space.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where are we located?

We are conveniently located near I-26 in downtown Johnson City at the corner of Roan & Market Streets. For more detailed directions and a map to our location please click here.

What do we believe as United Methodist Christians?

At Munsey Church, we are Christians who are excited to be part of the United Methodist Church. To find out more about what we believe please click here.

What is the history of Munsey?

Munsey Memorial began in 1871 as the East Market Street Methodist Church, built of handmade bricks at a cost of $4,000. The church was part of the heritage of the early Methodist circuit riders that brought the gospel to the pioneer settlements of the American frontier. To learn more about our history click here.

Safe Sanctuaries?

Safe Sanctuaries is the name commonly given by local United Methodist Annual Conferences and local churches to their individual efforts to make conference, district, and local church programs welcoming and safe for children. At Munsey we seek to do this by having at least two adults (non-related) on hand at all of our children’s events or classes, by observing good adult-child ratios, by having adults accompany their children to and from children’s activities, by doing back-ground checks on all paid staff, and by offering safe sanctuaries training and requiring background verification from all of our volunteers.
